Trains, You'll usually need a separate ticket for your bicycle, which can be purchased at the station or online. Some trains, especially those with limited bike space, may require reservations for your bike, particularly during busy periods. Look for the bicycle symbol on the train carriage to identify where bikes are stored. You are usually responsible for loading and unloading your bike. Some trains may not allow certain types of bikes, like tandems or recumbent bikes. The SBB online timetable allows you to search for connections where bicycle transport is possible. You can also send your bike as luggage through the SBB if you prefer.

Buses. You'll need to purchase a ticket for your bicycle, either a point-to-point ticket, a Bike Day Pass, or an annual pass via PostBus. Bikes are typically stored in a designated area on the bus, often a trailer or a space within the bus itself. This area may have limited space, so it's best to arrive early and be prepared to load your bike. Always check the specific regulations of the Postbus route you are using, as there may be variations depending on the region or specific bus line.
